New St. Seiya Prequel Anime in Development

An anonymous post on Japan’s 2 Channel message board claims that this year’s 53rd issue of Weekly Shonen Champion magazine, on sale this Thursday, will announce an anime adaptation of the ongoing Saint Seiya: The Lost Canvas – Meio Shinwa manga series. The prequel series, written by St. Seiya creator Masami Kurumada and illustrated by Shiori Teshirogi, is set in the mid 1700s, detailing the story of Tenma, Alone, and Sasha – the 18th century incarnations of Pegasus Seiya, Hades, and Athena.

The entirety of the original St. Seiya manga storyline was wrapped up in anime form by this year’s St. Seiya Hades Elysion Hen video series.
