It&#039;s that simple.  The expectation of realization of income is not there, which has led to, at best, a staring contest between Viz, Bandai, and Navarre to see who&#039;s the last to go -- and, at worst, shady accounting practices by the likes of ADV to be there when all the rest go.

Fact is, most of today&#039;s anime is utter garbage.  But that is, again, because people have refused to give the Japanese the due compensation for their work (nor the Americans), and, hence, the Japanese have to cut corners.  Story-telling, as we&#039;ve known it, is non-existent.  The animation quality of several studios has gone backwards a decade.

Why?  Too many fans, because they&#039;re all stealing it.</description>
