Shoji Kawamori to Work on Mugen Dai Shonen Anime Project
The NHK television network in Japan’s Toyama prefecture will commemorate its 50th anniversary with a special anime project co-developed by Toyama residents and Toyama native son Shoji Kawamori. Kawamori is best known as the creator of the Macross anime franchise. The Mugen Dai Shonen television special will illustrate children’s vision of Toyama 25 years into the future. From now until October 25th, NHK is accepting artwork submissions from Toyama area elementary and middle school children.
Kawamori & NHK will select three winning entries for inclusion in the Mugen Dai Shonen special. The three winning children creators will be brought to Tokyo to participate in the production of the anime special. The Mugen Dai Shonen will premier next January.
