Youka Nitta Ends Manga Career

On Thursday, July 10th, Be-Boy Gold magazine and yaoi manga artist Youka Nitta issued public apologies regarding Nitta’s admission to tracing an Italian magazine ad photograph for a page of her Haru wo Daiteita manga. Nitta admitted to the copying but claimed that she hadn’t realized that her action was unethical. Fan examinations uncovered over 30 additional instances of Nitta plagiarizing other works.

As a result of the controversy, Nitta has canceled her planned guest appearance at the American Yaoi-Con. Furthermore, this week Nitta has taken her website & blog offline and announced that she will cease creating manga. Publisher Libre has ceased distributing Nitta’s work and has expunged virtually all references to her and her work.
