		<description>I know what John's talking about when he says fan subbers use fansubs for their own personal expression. It may not be all that obvious unless someone points it out. There's a good video that documents this on YouTube called Anime Fansub Documentary by OtaKing77077 that, while a little long winded, points out a lot of things you probably wouldn't think about.

As for unique genres, I personally don't care what genre anime is as long as its good. Though I feel anime is starting to become a parody of itself, with constant references to character stereotypes that generally aren't funny anymore.

If you're looking for hidden gems, check out Animeworks/Media Blaster releases. They're usually a little edgier than mainstream releases, but are in my opinion some of the most unique these days.</description>
