Bandai Visual USA has formally announced plans to stream the first episode of the Super Robot Wars television series “in just a few more weeks,” followed by the first episode of Galaxy Angel Rune.
Bandai Visual USA currently streams the first episode of the Haruka: Beyond the Stream of Time – A Tale of the Eight Guardians television series for free online viewing.
While more free episode samples online through official channels is a wonderful thing, I can’t avoid thinking that this is something of a pointless effort because virtually all of the American fans that were ever going to buy these two titles already have bought them.

Toei Animation’s official homepage for the Mushrambo anime franchise now hosts a streaming teaser trailer for the upcoming first Mushrambo theatrical film. The 90 minute long first movie, “Kokoro o Chikara ni” will be followed by a second, concluding movie titled “Owaranai Chikyu.” Both films are scheduled for Japanese release later this year.

The official Japanese homepage for the Strait Jacket OVA series has announced a June 28th premier of a limited Japanese theatrical release of a “Strait Jacket International Version” movie. The movie version will seemingly combine the OVA series’ first three episodes into a single 75 minute long feature – apparently the way the animation will be released outside of Japan.
Strait Jacket has been licenesed for American home video release by Manga Entertainment. Manga Entertainment currently distributes the Karas OVA series on American DVD in a similar “movie version” edit.

The official Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni anime series homepage has officially confirmed that the franchise’s third anime series will be a 3 episode OVA series titled “Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Rei.”

Dengeki Online reports that the upcoming Japanese DVD release of the romantic comedy anime series Kanokon will be even more risqué than the Japanese television broadcast and internet broadcast versions, which have already caused a stir because of their “ecchi” content. The first Kanokon DVD is scheduled for Japanese release on June 25th.
The next title up in my small stack of Adult Source Media sample DVDs to review is The Harvest Night volume 1; a title that turned out to be a qualified positive, but puzzling show.
