First Girl Who Leapt Through Time Theatrical Screenings Scheduled

Bandai Entertainment has officially scheduled the first American theatrical screenings of director Mamoru Hosoda’s award-winning anime film The Girl Who Leapt through Time (Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo). The film will play at the ImaginAsian theaters in Los Angeles and New York City from June 13-19, and at the Seattle, Washington Landmark Theaters Varsity from August 29 through September 4th. The L.A. and Seattle screenings will be subtitled. The NYC screenings will be dubbed. Additional theatrical screenings and a domestic DVD will be forthcoming.

Well, it’s not the first American theatrical screening per se… it’s been on the festival circuit for the past two summers. I guess it would be more accurate to say it’s the first distributor backed, scheduled screening… of a sort.
That said, it is an awesome film indeed.
