Manga of Japan corresponds to the movie in the United States.
Both of them are very popular amusument, many works of wide genres are produced every day, and the price in each
country is very reasonable.
In Japan, manga is very low-price, and many hundreds manga works is published on the magazine and by the book
and read every week.
There is not a mystery if extreme and violence one arises among many.

It is to my understanding that there are no actual fatalities depicted in First Blood, as surprising as it sounds. I believe that most of the combatants were injured, not KIA'd. Now, Rambo IV (or Rambo) is another thing altogether...

It's actually very simple. America is a very religious and moralistic society, more so than most other nations. And with the growth of crime and horror comics after World War II, religious leaders and government officials came up with The Comics Code Authority of 1954. If the comic met the standards it got a seal of approval and distributors either accepted the comics with the seal or went out of business. It took decades for comic book publishers to break away from the code.

Read the original code here.
