Berserk isn't a "cute" or "family friendly" show? Since when? ;)

I don't think the Slayers revival will *lead* to anything, but it sure gives us even more hope for a sequal considering we're seeing "revivals" of other older shows lately like Golgo 13, Space Adventure Cobra, and I think at least one other show which I can't put my finger on right now. On the other hand, John makes a good point about the marketability of the show. If the Japanese otakus aren't going to support it, it most likely won't happen.

I think a Berserk anime would be a bad idea right now. I'm a huge Berserk fanboy, but the manga isn't quite ready for it yet. Things are really just starting to get good last I checked, and it hasn't had any kind of stopping point in a while. There have been some major story arcs, but nothing so epic and important as Guts and Griffith's relationship that was covered in the show. And at the rate Berserk comes out in Japan (6-7 mo between full volumes) it'll be a while before it's ready.
