Japanese entertainment magazine Oricon has published the results of its latest fantasy poll. 900 Japanese readers responded to the question, “If you could turn into a main character of an anime series, who would it be?”

The top five responses from men were:

1. Son Goku (Dragon Ball)
2. Doraemon (Doraemon)
3. Nobita (Doraemon)
4. Edogawa Conan (Detective Conan)
5. Monkey D. Lufy (One Piece)

The top five responses from women were:

1. Doraemon (Doraemon)
2. Usagi Tsukino (Sailor Moon) or Monkey D. Lufy (One Piece)
4. Son Goku (Dragon Ball)
5. Heidi (Heidi of the Alps) or Nobita (Doraemon)

The top ten combined responses were:

1. Son Goku (Dragon Ball)
2. Doraemon (Doraemon)
3. Monkey D. Lufy (One Piece)
4. Nobita (Doraemon)
5. Edogawa Conan (Detective Conan) or Usagi Tsukino (Sailor Moon)
