The Japanese Kakikuya (“Manager”) Web homepage for PC game writers, producers, and novelists has reported that the award winning 2006 adult PC game Kono Aozora Ni Yakusoku Wo will be adapted into an anime television series.

Manga Denies Solid State Society Blu-ray Release

Manga Entertainment has formally denied plans to release the Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex ~Solid State Society~ movie on Blu-ray media. A seeming official confirmation of a Blu-ray release was revealed earlier this week.

Ask John: Will There Be More Inuyasha Anime?

Question:
Is Inuyasha the anime version never gonna be finish? I mean it had an ending, but a really inconclusive ending. They never defeated Naraku and also I’ve read in Anime Insider that the manga is gonna be ending this year. If it does, are there any chances of seeing any more episodes for the anime version?

Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure Movie Trailers Online

Manga Entertainment Schedules New Titles

Manga Entertainment has announced release dates for two new anime titles and the first American Blu-ray anime disc.

Highlander: Vengeance will retail at $19.98 or $29.98 as a limited edition version beginning June 5.
Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex ~ Solid State Society will retail at $24.98 or $44.98 as a limited edition beginning July 3.

Ask John: Will the Live Action Evangelion Ever Happen?

I had a question about Neon Genesis Evangelion. I do not remember what NewType magazine it was in, but I remember reading that there was going to be a live action version coming out soon. Well, that mag, if I remember correctly, was almost 1-2 years old. Did they cancel their plans on making it, or is it still planned on coming out?

GR -GIANT ROBO- Episode 1 Available for Viewing Online

Japanese multimedia site Sg-TV now hosts the first episode of the GR -GIANT ROBO- anime television for free online viewing. Access to the DRM encoded episode requires a free registration. The site includes English language registration instructions. The Giant Robo episode will be available for free online viewing until January 31st.

Tokikake & Tekkon Kinkreet Win Additional Awards

The Toki wo Kakeru Shojo (The Girl Who Leapt Through Time) and Tekkon Kinkreet anime movies have been recognized by the 61st Annual Mainichi Film Contest.

Judges awarded “Tokikake” with the Animation Award, given to the year’s most entertaining animated film. Tekkon Kinkreet received the Ofuji Noburo Award, given to the year’s most artistic and innovative anime film.

The first live action Death Note movie, based on the manga by Tsugumi Oba & Takeshi Obata, won the public voting for the Tsutaya Movie Fan Award for Best Japanese Film.

New Dororo Movie Trailer Released

The Japanese Quicktime homepage now hosts a new trailer for the live action Dororo motion picture, an adaptation of Osamu Tezuka’s classic Dororo manga and anime television series. The film is scheduled to open in Japanese theaters on the 27th.

Variety Magazine has reported that Universal Pictures has acquired North American distribution rights to the picture.
