Kitty Media Announces New Titles

Media Blasters’ Kitty Media adult anime line has announced release dates for a pair of new titles.

Beat Angel Escalayer volume 1 will retail at $29.98 beginning June 14th.
Immoral Sisters 2 volume 1 will retail at $29.98 beginning June 28th.

Bandai Announcements from Katsucon

At this past weekend’s Katsucon convention Bandai announced North American distribution rights to the Panda-Z anime television series and the Sentou Yousei Shoujo Tasukete! Mave-chan OAV.

Sentou Yousei Yukikaze OAV 5 will be released in Japan this spring. As a result, the American release will be 3 volumes instead of the originally planned two. American Yukikaze volume 2 will contain OAVs 3 & 4. American Yukikaze DVD 3 will contain episode 5 and the Mave-chan spin-off.

The American release of the Dear Boys basketball anime television series will be re-named “Hoop Days,” but the DVD covers will be reversible with the original Japanese title available.

Viz Acquires New Manga Titles

Amazon.com has listed several English translated manga titles from Viz that Viz, LLC. itself has not publicly announced: Full Moon wo Sagashite, Cain, Ouran Host Club and Genbu Kaiden.

Transformers Galaxy Force Coming to America

Toon Zone has reported that the current Transformers Galaxy Force anime television series, partially animated by Gonzo Studios, will air on the Cartoon Network this summer under the title “Transformers Cybertron.”

Snow Queen Website Opened

NHK Television has opened its website devoted to the upcoming anime television series Yuki no Jyou The Snow Queen. The series will premier on May 22nd.

The series will be directed by veteran animator Osamu Dezaki, whose previous anime directorial works include Aim for the Ace, Rose of Versailles, Black Jack, and Golgo 13.

Tsubasa Chronicle Website Updated

Onmyou Taisenki Game Trailer Available

The official Japanese website for the Onmyou Taisenki Playstation 2 game, based on the current anime television series, now hosts a streaming Windows Media format trailer for the action RPG. The game is scheduled for Japanese release on March 31.

Grenadier Licensed By Media Blasters

Media Blasters ha revealed its acquisition of the 2004 Granadier anime TV series through retailer solicitations. The first DVD will be released on June 28th in a disc only and disc with series collector’s box edition.

Digital Manga Announces New Releases

Digital Manga has announced its acquisition of translation rights to three new manga titles:

The all-color manga anthology Robot Vol. 1, compiled by Range Murata, will debut in English in July.

The yaoi title Alone in My King’s Harem will be released in September.

DMP’s instructional guide Let’s Draw Manga - Fantasy will be released in October.

Digital Manga has also confirmed its acquisition of translation rights to the yaoi manga series Our Kingdom. The first volume will be released in October.

Furthermore, Digital Manga has opened its redesigned homepage and its “Girl’s Only Sanctuary” Yaoi-Manga.com.

Pretty Cure Movie Trailer Available

Critical Mass Schedules Two New Releases

Critical Mass has scheduled the domestic release of two new titles in the Vanilla Series line.

The Private Sessions 2 DVD will contain both Tokubetsu Jugyuu 2 OAVs and retail at $24.98 beginning April 26th.

The Story of Little Monica DVD will contain both uncut Little Monica Monogatari OAVs at $24.98. Available May 31st.

Viz Announces New Full Metal Alchemist Books

According to ICv2 News, Viz has revealed plans to publish a series of Full Metal Alchemist novelizations beginning this October. A domestic hardcover Art of Full Metal Alchemist book will be released in November. Viz will begin releasing Himoru Arakawa’s original Full Metal Alchemist manga series this May.

Manga Dominates Mainstream Comic Sales

The top 10 best selling graphic novels in mainstream American bookstores for the week ending February 13th were all translated Japanese manga. The only books in the top 50 best sellers that were not translated Japanese or Korean comics were Megatokyo volume 3, The Book of Bunny Suicides, and Astonishing X-Men volume 1.

The top ten best sellers in mainstream retail outlets were:
