Viz Will Romanize Detective Conan Manga

According to Anime on DVD, Viz will publish Gosho Aoyama’s Detective Conan manga series in English under the American title “Case Closed.” Furthermore, the original Japanese character names will be altered to match the mainstream American names used in the Cartoon Network television broadcast.

Prince of Tennis Movie Announced

Movielink Offers Starblazers

Movielink.com now offers the first two American seasons of Starblazers for streaming online, on-demand viewing. The episodes are available in 4-5 episode packages for $4.99 per package.

The third English dubbed season of Starblazers, and the original Japanese Space Cruiser Yamato motion pictures will be available from Movielink in the future.

Gunsmith Cats Manga to Restart

After a several year long hiatus, Kenichi Sonoda’s Gunsmith Cats manga will restart in the September issue of Afternoon Magazine as “Gunsmith Cats: Burst.”

ADV Manga Announces Two New Titles

ADV Manga has announced that the first of three volumes of Najica Blitz Tactics manga will be released on August 24th and retail at $9.99.

The All Purpose Cultural Cat Girl Nuku Nuku manga, originally released in Japan as a special hardcover edition, will also go on sale on August 24th at a $14.99 retail price. The Nuku-Nuku manga features a 40 page manga story by original creator Yuzo Takada, and a 56 page cel art side-story to the original anime OAV series produced by original anime director Yuji Moriyama.

Ask John: Will The Rest of Super Gals Get Released in America?

Question:
I have a question about the anime “Super Gals.” I’m a huge fan and recently bought the box set (which has 26 episodes on 6 DVDs). But I’ve seen in several places online that the show actually has 52 episodes! And the final show on DVD 6 seemed a little odd - it said “Next” (implying another show) and looked like it had a slight trace of a preview that got cut off. Are there more episodes that haven’t been released here yet? And if so, are they planning to bring them here?

New Detail on Uncut 4Kids Titles

According to Absolute-0, the uncut DVD releases of Yu-Gi-Oh and Shaman King will be bilingual. The English dub tracks on the uncut DVDs will use the American character names, and will employ all of the original American voice actors to re-record the uncut episodes with new dialogue based on the uncut scripts.

AD Vision Schedules Fist of the North Star OAVs

AD Vision has officially announced that the first New Fist of the North Star OAV will hit domestic DVD on September 21st in a $29.98 disc only and $34.98 disc with collector’s box edition.

Hardcover Trigun Manga Announced

Dark Horse Comics has announced plans to re-release the first Trigun manga graphic novel in a hardcover version this August. The hardcover Trigun manga volume 1 will only be available at Barnes & Noble stores and will retail at $11.95, $3 less than than the currently available softcover version.
