Mind Game Website Opened

Studio 4C has opened its Japanese homepage for the upcoming motion picture Mind Game. The adaptation of manga by Robin Nishi will be a combination of 2D & 3D animation and live action, typical of the unique and unusual animation produced by Beyond C. The film will open in Japanese theaters this summer.

New Saber Marionette in Production

Saber Marionette creator Akahori Satoru has officially revealed that a new Saber Marionette work is in production. It’s not clear if the new work is prose, radio drama, manga or animation.

TechTV no More

Billionaire Paul Allen has sold his interactive cable network, Tech TV to rival Comcast Corp., which plans to fold Tech TV into its G4 network, which is devoted exclusively to video games. Of particular interest to anime fans, presently there’s no telling how this merger will affect TechTV’s Anime Unleashed program or whether G4 will retain and continue the Anime Unleashed programing or not.

International Channel Schedules More Anime

The International Channel will broadcast Tenchi Muyo in Love, subtitled in English, at 1:00 a.m (Eastern time) on April 3rd.

Tenchi Forever, subtitled, will air at 1:00 a.m (Eastern time) on April 4th.

Sol Bianca, dubbed in English, will air Tuesdays at 11:00 p.m. (Eastern time) starting April 6th.

First Look at Gundam Seed Astray

Japanese news site Hatena presently hosts 14 screenshots of the 5 minute long Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Astray promotional video that Bandai Visual screened during last weekend’s Tokyo International Anime Fair. It’s not clear if there are plans to develop a more Gundam Seed Astray anime. Gundam Seed Astray is a manga spin-off from the popular Gundam Seed TV series.

The Magic Box has reprinted screenshots from IGN for SNK Playmore’s first 3D King of Fighters game, King of Fighters: Maximum Impact. The game will be released for the Playstation 2 in Japan and American this fall.

Latest Anime News from Japan

According to Moon Phase, the recently announced new Ah! My Goddess anime will be a TV series produced by the same staff that created the Ah! My Goddess movie.

The fifth Ojamajo Doremi series, titled Ojamajo Doremi Na-i-sho (Useless Witch Doremi - Secret) will air on Sky Perfect TV pay-per-view on June 26th. The series will be 13 episodes.

According to its official site, Re: Cutie Honey will be a 3 episode OAV series. The first 45 minute long episode will be broadcast on Sky Perfect TV on July 24th, prior to its September DVD release. Also according to the official site, the “Re:” stands for “Return,” “Renewal,” and “Responce.”

The popular “Wind ~ a breath of heart ~” adult computer game will be adapted into a 3 episode OAV series this spring, and an anime TV series this summer.

The “Tsuki ha Higashi ni Hi ha Nishi ni - Operation Sanctuary -” (The Moon is East the Sun is West - Operation Sanctuary -) adult computer game, also known as “HaniHani,” will be adapted into an anime TV series this July.

Geneon Reveals First Details on Domestic R.O.D. TV Release

Chad Kime of Geneon has revealed to Anime on DVD that

The LE version [R.O.D. TV series DVD volume 1] will not be a traditional artbox. Instead, it will be a faux-leather book with DVD trays instead of pages with room for the rest of the ROD the TV series. Both the LE DVD Book (as we will refer to it) and the regular edition will ship with limited edition two-sided pencil boards that feature the artwork from the R2 cards.

At this exact second, I’m not sure if there are different pencil boards in each set, but I’ll double check with the producer. This packaging is not like a digi-pack and will be a first in the industry and will be foil stamped with the series logos.

Geneon Announces DVD Re-Releases

Geneon has announced plans to release a Sailor Moon S DVD boxed set. The six disc set will come re-packaged in “thin pack” cases with single sided cover illustrations and a retail price of $99.98, beginning on July 6th.

Geneon has also announced that Fushigi Yuugi will be released on individual DVDs beginning on July 27th. The first individual Fushigi Yuugi DVD will contain 7 episodes and retail at $24.98.

New Anime Websites Opened

After the end of the Saiyuki Reload TV series with episode 25, a third Saiyuki TV series titled Saiyuki Reload Gunlock will commence on April 1st. The official TV Tokyo Saiyuki Reload Gunlock homepage hosts a streaming Real Media trailer.

TV Tokyo has opened websites for the upcoming anime TV series Madlax and Kenran Butou Matsuri The Mars Daybreak.

Anime Network to Broadcast Comic Party
