Ask John: How Much Nadesico Is There?

I was wondering if you could tell me when Martian Successor Nadesico was released in Japan and how many episodes of it are there?

Answer:
If my recollection is correct, Nadesico premiered in Japan in 1997 and ran for 26 TV episodes. It was followed by a spin-off Gekiganger V OAV and the Nadesico movie: Uchuu Senkan Nadesico-The Prince of Darkness. There have also been numerous console video games for Nadesico on the Saturn, Dreamcast and Gameboy.
