Animation Course Taught Over Internet

The Tokyo Movie Shinsya anime studio will open an internet animation school called “Anime Juku” to cultivate future anime creators and producers. Chief instructor, Otsuka Yasuo, has worked as animation supervisor on Hayao Miyazaki’s Future Boy Conan and Lupin the 3rd: Castle of Cagliostro. Tokyo Movie, Telecom Animation Film (Tokyo Movie’s affiliated studio known for the “Batman” series) and Japanese software developer Celsis will be sponsoring the school. A PC running Windows is required, with tablet and the software application Pencilman, which was designed for the course. It’s currently unknown if the course, which starts in February, will be taught in English. For more information, e-mail: tafhp@telecom-anime.com.
