Aku no Hana Teaser Released
King Records has released the first teaser trailer for studio Xebec’s upcoming Aku no Hana (Flowers of Evil) anime television series. Mushishi director Hiroshi Nagahama is directing the adaptation of Shuzo Oshimi’s “corrupt pure-love story” manga. Reportedly Xebec is using an “unconventional” method to animate the series that will premiere on April 5.
Are they rotoscoping it? Looks like that may be the case.

Has any anime ever been verifiably rotoscoped? I mean, animators use video references all the time esp. for high-end works, and there are certainly specialists in realist animation out there (Hiroyuki Okiura most notably), but tracing over live-action footage to produce character animation… Is that a thing that ever happened in anime?
